A few years ago I did this idea for my still life project at my community college entitled "What's in My Purse." I had gotten this particular idea from a group on Flickr that was literally organized shots of what people kept in their purses, camera bags, wallets, etc. It was brilliant to look at and I couldn't wait to do my own. Well for our mid-term this semester at my new school we looked at some websites about organized things and a style of photography entitled "knolling". It inspired me to revisit this and take a look at what is in my bag now 3 years later. A lot is the same and a lot is different.

My shot from now.

My shot from April of 2009.

I think I'm mostly just impressed by how much my photography skills have evolved over the years and how much time I now take to make a photo perfect. I think you can really tell the difference.

Shot for my midterm

I am fascinated by smoke. It is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen and every chance I have to photograph it I take it. I did this shot for half of my studio midterm and everyone seemed to really like it. I'm extremely excited.
