Kristie

Have to give a huge shout out to Collier for helping me with the lighting on this one. Everything I had planned just went right into the toilet and I don't feel good about it. But I still like this image even though I'm feeling less than stellar about my brain fart when it came to the lighting. Happens to everyone one time or another I guess.

Yes, it's me again

I kind of shot myself in the foot when I decided to shoot 10 different people in two weeks. Oh well I'm using myself twice because I can. This shoot didn't go exactly as I had planned but I got the shot and it's done and I can move on.

Editorial shoot with Chandra

Chandra is seriously one of my favorite models to work with. She is also the shortest person I've ever met. Despite that she knows what she is doing and she's incredibly beautiful. This was one of the fastest shoots I've ever done too. I had forgotten to charge my battery before hand and so I had to do as many different poses and shots as I could in a small amount of time. Luckily when working with someone like Chandra I can get an amazing shot in 10 minutes. This shoot was only 25. It was amazing. It was also my first time working with strobes outside during the day and I think I pretty much nailed it!

Self-Portrait and a shoot with Collier all in one day

Busy busy busy that's really the only way I can describe my last few days. I have been tirelessly working on my alternative prints and then had to do TWO shoots yesterday for TODAY and helped Collier with one of his! BLERG! But I am so incredibly happy by how they went that I really couldn't have asked for more. The first shoot I did was of myself in my room. One of my walls is covered from corner to corner with pages out of magazines. It's something that I'm stupidly proud of. But it represents me extremely well so I wanted that specific wall to be my background. It took awhile for me to get into stride because I'm the most awkward model you've probably ever seen but I got the perfect shot and I'm so happy with it! This was also my third attempt at lighting indoors and holy moly it came out SO MUCH BETTER! I think I have finally grasped how to do this properly. After I was done with that I assisted Collier with a shoot in the music building for his final. It was a long shoot but I think (well I hope) he got some good shots. Finally I was going to shoot Haley after hours in the studios but she kind of backed out on me so Collier filled in instead. He is a great guy to shoot because he is just so easy to work with. I'm extremely thankful that he was there for me when I needed him and the shots turned out AMAZING! So for a busy day it was really a great day!

A second attempt at indoor lighting.

So I wasn't happy with the results I got from my last attempt at indoor lighting. So I tried again at my friend Alex's house to see if maybe it was just the small inclosed space I had decided to shoot in. Needless to say I didn't exactly have a better time this go but I think the pictures are a tad bit more interesting than they were before. Alex wasn't the most perfect model considering she was drinking during the process but it's still better than nothing.

My first attempt at using strobes indoors

So for one of my assignments I had to balance ambient light with strobe light indoors. Let me just say that this was not an easy task. My professor didn't exactly do the greatest job explaining how to achieve this properly so I was kind of on my own. Also I heard lots of conflicting information from fellow students. Basically this is what I got from this. Not my best shot believe me I know but it's definitely a starting point. And everyone has to start somewhere, right?
